What is Psychotherapeutic Counselling?
Psychotherapeutic Counselling is a combination of shorter term Counselling and longer term Psychotherapy. Working with the here and now, current life stresses, working towards building problem solving and coping strategies. Merging with deeper root exploration into relational patterns, past experiences and their impact on the present day. Emphasising the importance of co creating safe in depth therapeutic relationships.
Who do you work with?
I am a Child and Adolescent Psychotherapeutic Counsellor. Specialising with ages 5 to 26. Working with all ages 5 and above, in to adulthood. Feel free to contact me if you would like to see how we could work together.
What type of therapy do you provide?
I am trained integratively. Mainly working from a relational, person centred, neuro scientific, psychodynamic, child development, art/play, trauma informed perspective. With a focus on the therapeutic relationship and interpersonal relationships in a person’s network. Gently and compassionately, providing lots of empathy, grounding and pausing when needed. I enjoy (and am trained in) using various creative methods to safely help us figure out what needs to be expressed. I believe that you know yourself best, therefore rather than giving advice, I like to walk alongside you on your therapy journey. I look forward to working as a little team with you and I really appreciate feedback so I can support you as best as possible.
How do I know you are qualified to be a therapist?
I am a Clinical Member of PACFA (Australian Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation), which means I have work experience of over 750+ supervised client hours and have both Masters and Post graduate qualifications in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. Having regular clinical supervision for professional support. Holding a current WA Police Check, current and up to date Working With Children Check, Professional Insurance and First Aid Certificate.
